Welcome and thank you for stopping by.  I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Los Angeles, counseling individuals, couples, and families. You most likely clicked on my website because you need extra support in some area of your life.  You have come to the right place, you are not alone.

We will work together on helping you gain awareness and insight about yourself, your relationships and obstacles preventing you from leading a peaceful, satisfying life.  Our relationship will involve you feeling seen, heard and understood, which is where your healing
will begin.

Life can be extremely challenging at times and everyone experiences difficult times.
The most beautiful days are those following heavy rain and wind; Light comes forth
out of darkness. Let me be your support as you embark on your journey within.

I am a kind, nurturing and non-judgmental therapist. I work collaboratively with you on meeting your needs. I pay close attention to what you say and at times mirror back what I see and hear.  I help you come to a better understanding of your situation and explore what actions you might take if need be. I help you identify a connection between your past and your present. We will discuss better forms of communication and how to tolerate difficult feelings. I help you uncover your truths so you can live an authentic life.

Psychotherapy is the process of healing through connection with a trained professional.  The therapist provides a safe space for a person's truth to emerge. There is a great deal of freedom that is felt once you surrender to the feelings and thoughts that have been causing you great pain. The therapist attunes and mirrors the persons feelings; and through that process a powerful connection is developed.  The inner work involves looking inside oneself to examine why we are effected by people and events, and how we in turn respond. How do you want to live your life? Psychotherapy will help you identify your truths and help you make the necessary changes.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a therapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  EMDR therapy allows the mind to heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma.  The brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward mental health.  When a person is traumatized their system is blocked or imbalanced by the impact of a disturbing event, the emotional wound is never fully processed and the mid brain continues to stay activated.  Once the block is removed, healing resumes and the brain is able to process, moving the information up to the prefrontal cortex.  Using the detailed protocols and procedures learned in EMDR therapy training sessions, clinicians help clients activate their natural healing processes. Healing can occur in as few as three sessions.

EMDR therapy is an eight-phase treatment.  Eye movements (or other bilateral stimulation) are used during one part of the session.  After the clinician has determined which memory to target first, she asks the client to hold different aspects of that event or thought in their mind while the therapist provides bilateral stimulation.  As this happens, clients begin to process the memory and disturbing feelings. In successful EMDR therapy, the meaning of painful events is transformed on an emotional level. Unlike talk therapy, the insights clients gain in EMDR therapy result  from the client’s own accelerated intellectual and emotional processes.  The end result of EMDR therapy is that client's feel empowered by the very experiences that once held them back.  Clients still have the memory of experiences but no longer feel triggered by the memory or have the same negative beliefs or somatic distress attached to the memory.
